EC Verification and Risk Assessment of the Krumovo – Dimitrovgrad section

On 26.10.2018, in the city of Sofia, between the National Railway Infrastructure Company, in its capacity of Employer, and “TINSA” Ltd (Contractor), a contract 6267/26.10.2018 was signed for public procurement award with subject: EC Conformity Verification and Assessment of the interoperability and Independent Safety Assessment of the suitability of the application of the risk management process of railway section from km 164+575 in Krumovo – Katunica interstation to km 231+560 in Yabalkovo – Dimitrovgrad interstation, with two detached positions”.

Participation in XIII National Scientific-Practical Conference "Measurements for Transport"

Experts from TINSA Ltd. participated in the XIII National Scientific-Practical Conference "Measurements for Transport", held on the occasion of World Metrology Day – 20-th of May and organized by Bulgarian Metrological Institute, State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance and Union of the Metrologists in Bulgaria.

The Conference was held on 19-th of May 2017 in the conference room of the Executive Agency "Bulgarian Accreditation Service", 52A “Dr. G. M. Dimitrov” Blvd., Sofia, with participants from State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance, Bulgarian Metrological Institute, testing laboratories and Techical University of Sofia.

MSc Eng. Borislav Boiadjiev presented a paper "Interoperability and measurement requirements in the Railway Transport". Authors of the paper are: Assoc. Prof. PhD MSc Eng. Nelly Stoytcheva – General Manager; MSc Eng. Yordan Kostadinov – Technical Director; Assoc. Prof. PhD MSc Eng. Petar Matov – Chief Expert Assessor for Subsystem "Energy"; MSc Eng. Borislav Boiadjiev – Chief Expert Assessor for Subsystem "Control, Command and Signalling"; MSc Eng. Borislav Karchev – Chief Expert Assessor for Subsystem "Infrastructure".

Participating in the International Rail Forum & Conference IRFC-2017

Assoc. Prof. PhD MSc Eng. Nelly Stoytcheva – General Manager and Eng. Denitsa Kireva-Mihova participated in the International Railway Forum & Conference – IRFC-2017, held in Prague.

There were more than 230 participants from European Commission, Ministries of Transport from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, organizations: UIC, ERA, UNIFE, CER and other major European and Asian organizations.

Forum & Conference was organized by OLTIS-Group.

The forum was focused on Fourth Railway Package, Interoperability, Digitalization in Railway Transport, Railway Innovation & Research, News and Best Practices in Freight and Logistics, Products and Services in the Railway Industry.

Papers were presented by: Martina Werner from European Parliament, Josef Doppelbauer – Executive Director of European Union Agency for Railways, Leonardo Dongiovanni from UNIFE, Carlo Borghini – Executive Director of SHIFT2RAIL, Maroš Šefčovič from European Commission, Matthew Baldwin – Deputy Director-General of DG FOR MOBILITY AND TRANSPORT (DG-MOVE), Jean-Pierre Loubinoux from UIC, Attila Kiss from OSJD, Libor Lochman from CER, prof. Efim Rozenberg – First Deputy General Director of NIIAS Russia and many other.

Memorandum of collaboration between Scientific and Research Activity Consortium and TINSA Ltd.

Today, TINSA Ltd. and Scientific and Research Activity Consortium signed a Memorandum of strategic collaboration. The Memorandum was signed at Intelligent Communication Infrastructures Laboratory premises, part of the The laboratory complex of Sofia Tech Park JCS.

Main target of the memorandum is to assist laboratory activities in areas of research and development, training of young specialists who study in “Telecommunication” departments, and common applying for projects of Consortium and TINSA Ltd. The Intelligent Communication Infrastructures Laboratory is one of three similar laboratories in Europe.

Intelligent Communication Infrastructures Laboratory within the project of SofiaTech Park JCS was inaugurated in June 2016 for certification of products with safety-critical applications in rail transport according to Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community.

The laboratory has the most modern equipment to perform tests of products used in ERTMS/ETCS track-side and on-board equipment. The laboratory includes three sections:

  • Eurobalises: BTM/Antenna, Balise and LEU;
  • ETCS: on-board equipment;
  • Internet of Things.

Main activity of the laboratory is concentrated in researching, developing, testing and certifying of equipment for European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS).

The memorandum was signed by prof. Marin Hristov – president of the Consortium and assoc. prof. Nely Stoytcheva – Manager of TINSA Ltd.

The Scientific and Research Activity Consortium is engaged with managing of the Laboratory Complex of Sofia Tech Park JCS.

Participation in the Moving the Future project

TINSA took part in the first MOVE brokerage event – Moving the Future (MOVE). MOVE is European Strategic Cluster Partnership in the field of mobility industry, fostering the European collaboration between clusters in transport and logistics, ICT and green technologies. The event was organized on 6th of March in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Eng. Denitsa Kireva-Mihova presented the vision of the company Tinsa Ltd. as a member of the Cluster of Telecommunications for development of the cooperation in ICT and transportation.

Representatives of clusters, companies and universities from Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Macedonia working in the field of transport, logistics, smart mobility, smart cities, ICT and green technologies participated in the event and presented their organizations and activities.

The project manager – Ms. Elena Perez presented the MOVE project’s aims, activities and opportunities for SME’s such as” capacity building, tools for internationalization, cooperation and etc.

Mr. Peter Statev, Chairman of ICT Cluster Bulgaria was a keynote speaker talking about innovation and smart cities.

Analysis and opportunities for internationalization in Moroccian and Brazilian markets were presented by Mr. Massimo Da Vià, Envipark, Italy.

MOVE European Strategic Cluster Partnership got wider by joining six new clusters: Bavarian IT – Logistics Cluster, Lombardy Mobility Cluster. Bulgarian Green Transport Cluster, Electric Vehicle Industrial Cluster (Bulgaria), North – South Logistics and Transport Cluster (Poland) and Macedonian cluster for export of software and IT service – MACES.

The B2B event gave participants the opportunity to meet each other and to identify opportunities for cross-border and cross-sectoral cooperation.

EC verification and conformity assessment of the railway section Peiraias – Athens in Greece

On 14.03.2016, the Joint Venture between “RINA Services S.p.A” – Italy, “TINSA” Ltd. and “ADT OMEGA S.A.” – Greece signed a contract with Joint Venture “AKTOR A.T.E – TERNA S.A” in the city of Athens for EC verification of railway subsystems that are included in the project “Completion of the upgrading of the double electrified railway line at the section R.R. Peiraias – Exit of R.R. Athens” according to the requirements of the Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community and relevant Technical specifications for interoperability.

EC Certification of the Railway connection in the port of ALEXANDROUPOLIS, GREECE

On March 07th, 2016 TINSA Ltd. certified for interoperability a project “Railway connection in the new terminal for cargo containers at the port of Alexandroupolis, Greece” in accordance with Directive 2008/57/ЕC. The assessment comprised conformity assessment against the Technical specification for interoperability of subsystem Infrastructure, in accordance with Module SH1.

Participation in an International Forum

On 16.11.2015 General Manager of TINSA Ltd. Assoc. Prof. PhD Eng. Nelly Stoytcheva participated in an International Forum "Cooperation between Great Britain and countries from Central and Eastern Europe in field of the railway transport".

Forum was held in London with participation of transport companies, railway undertakings and operators from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The possibilities for cooperation and exchange of experience were discussed.
